• By 2030 the population 65 and older will increase 45% to 14,835. This group will make up 22% of the county’s population.
• Compared to the state, older adults are slightly less educated, 64% live in rural areas, 92% are white, and there are similar levels of disability.
• The median income is lower than the state, and there are greater numbers of older adults at the poverty level.
• There are slightly more falls and cancers resulting in hospitalizations compared to the state.
