BriefDescription: The NC Tobacco Use Quitline is available to all tobacco users in North Carolina who would like help from a trained, expert quit coach to stop using tobacco. This free service is available from 8 a.m. until 3 a.m., seven days a week, in English and Spanish and other languages. Quit coaches help tobacco users set a quit date and make a personalized plan for becoming tobacco free. They can call tobacco users back upon request to check on progress and continue to re-enforce their quit plan. In addition to quit coach calls those who enroll into the quit coach program can also use the Web Coach feature, receive e-mails from a quit coach and engage in an on-line community. The Quitline can also mail targeted cessation materials to callers that includes youth, pregnant women, and spit/smokeless tobacco users. Quitlines double the chances of quitting tobacco.

AdditionalInformation: The NC Tobacco Use Quitline is administered by the Tobacco Prevention and Control Branch and funded by the NC Division of Public Health and NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund
