• By 2030 the population 65 and older will increase 41% to 6,086 people. This group will make up 25% of the county’s population. This county already has one of the highest older adult populations.
• Compared to the state, older adults are better educated (10% over 65 have graduate level education), 91% live in rural areas, 95% are White, and there is less disability.
• The median income is greater than the state for older adults, and fewer are below the poverty level.
• Falls account for 11% of all hospital visits.
