Health Promotion Programming

In 2006 adults ≥ 65 made up 22% of the county’s population

• By 2030 the population age 65 and older will increase 72% to 12,718 people. This group will make up 27% of the county’s population. This county already has one of the largest older adult populations in the state.
• Compared to the state, older adults are better educated, 82% live in rural areas, 99% are white, and 21% have two or more disabilities.
• The median income is similar and more of those aged 75+ are at or below the poverty level.
