Title: Hospital Discharge Database
GeneralDescription: All admissions to non-psychiatric, nonfederal hospitals in North Carolina.

All hospitals in NC required to submit patient-level hospital discharge data to a data keeper (currently Thomson, Healthcare Inc.) responsible for making medical care data available to interested parties. The contractor supplies the State Center for Health Statistics copies of the data for analysis for public health programs.

You must go through SCHS to access data. Reports available at
http://www.schs.state.nc.us/SCHS/data/databook/
