Health Promotion Programming

In 2006 adults ≥ 65 made up 12% of the county’s population

• By 2030 the population age 65 and older will increase 81% to 33,742 people. This group will make up 17% of the county’s population.
• Compared to the state, older adults have similar demographics including education levels, numbers living in rural areas, and amount of disability, 92% of the county is white.
• The median income is slightly higher for those age 65-74 and slightly lower for those age 75+.
• Arthritis and diabetes account for 22% of physician visits.
